Annual Appliance Maintenance Plan
The Barnard Care Club is an annual appliance maintenance plan for homes in Bucks and Montgomery County. Once a year we come out, clean and check the five appliances that cause the most trouble, and call you first so it never slips your mind.

What We Check Every Year
Refrigerator
- Pull the fridge out and clean the condenser coils
- Change the water and air filters
- Check fridge and freezer temperatures
- Check door seals, drain line, and icemaker
Dishwasher
- Pull and clean the filters
- Check spray arms and clear blocked jets
- Run a cleaning and descale cycle
- Check the heater, draining, and door seal for leaks
Dryer and vent
- Clean the full vent run, from the dryer to the outside cap
- Clear lint at the dryer connection and vent cap
- Check heat, airflow, and drum noise
- Tell you if the vent run itself needs repair
Washer
- Clean the drain pump filter
- Run a tub cleaning cycle
- Check supply hoses, drain hose, and leveling
- Check the door seal on front loaders for mold and tears
Range and oven
- Check burners, elements, and igniters
- Check oven temperature against the setting
- Check the door seal and hinges
- Look over visible gas and electrical connections

Meet Ted Barnard
Barnard Appliance Repair is owned and operated by Ted Barnard, who has 15+ years in the trade. Ted is certified on Whirlpool and Maytag, and the shop services all appliance brands, including Whirlpool, GE, Samsung, LG, Maytag, Frigidaire, Sub-Zero, and Asko.
Ted went to Hatboro Horsham and graduated from Kutztown. He has 15+ years in the trade. Before opening Barnard Appliance Repair, he worked for independent repair shops and a national franchise.
Ted and his wife have five kids. He coaches football for the Willow Grove Bears. He also coaches baseball and travel basketball in Upper Moreland.
Care Club Questions
Are repairs included in the membership?
Repairs are not included in the membership, however if something does break, members get priority booking and skip the $99 service call charge + get 10% off the repair. Repairs carry a 1-year parts and 90-day labor warranty.
When does the yearly visit happen?
Yearly visits happen roughly 1 year after your first visit. We handle the scheduling and reminders so you never have to remember to call us!
What about a second refrigerator or an extra appliance?
The plan covers one appliance per category. A second fridge, a freezer, or another standard appliance can be added for $45 each per year. Standalone ice machines are quoted separately.
What if I move or sell the house?
The membership belongs to the house, so a visit still owed can pass to the buyer. If you move to another home inside our service area, call us and we will move the membership with you.
How does renewal and cancellation work?
Membership runs year to year. Founding members pay $299 for the first year; renewals are at the regular $369 rate. We remind you before each renewal, and you can cancel any time before the renewal date.
